We had a lot of fun creating this "Rural Retreat" selection. Similar to another of our fabrics ("Country Checks" - TSM1055) with a slightly darker brown tinge of colour, this fabric was very, very popular amongst all our weavers.

An extremely popular pattern and colour combination with Thai rural folks, we had to work hard to keep as much stock as we could for our customers. But we also loved giving presents of these fabrics as bonuses to our weavers at a recent Thai Silk Magic party.

This fabric is just so versatile and so easy to take care of, you would be forgiven if you forgot it was handmade Thai silk.

As a 2-Ply fabric it is both durable and extremely versatile.  Being both light weight and strong makes it an ideal fabric for those casual clothes you can wear anytime or anywhere - just slip them on and enjoy your surroundings in comfort and style.

And like all of our Thai silk fabrics, it is very easy to work with from a dressmaking and tailoring perspective. This is a key benefit of our naturaly dyed handwoven products as many silks are very fragile and almost impossible to work with.

Suitable for men, women and children for a wide range of casual clothes plus this versatile "Rural Retreat" fabric is ideal for tablecloth, table runners and napkins and even for small drapes.
